happy birthday jonathan! [17 Oct 2004|05:22pm] [ mood | tired ] 101604 He was slightly overweight and she, slightly underweight. The funny thing was, they had only just met but they acted as if they knew each other since they were little kids. "She looks like the number 1." He said to himself. "He looks like a 0." She said to herself. She shared his table because the coffee house was full and they were both alone. He was reading The Little Prince and she had read that book 10 years before. When she saw him reading it, she couldn't help but smile. They talked for hours and hours about anything and everything. The 1 was talking to a 0 and it seemed like the perfect combination. Not even the loud jazz music nor the noisy coffee machines could drown out the conversation they were both basking in. But time wasn't on their side and they eventually had to say goodbye. He went on his way, to the east, and she to the west. "She really does look like the number 1." He said. "He really looks like a 0." She said. So there they were, a 1 and a 0 walking in opposite directions not knowing if they would see each other again. But they both smiled. At least for a few hours, they were a perfect 10. [03 Oct 2004|09:57pm] [ mood | creative ] summer 2004 And then it was all fiction. I was sitting on my bed looking at the mix cd someone gave me. I was looking at it closely and thinking of the songs that were in them. Each song was a memory but those memories already turned sour and I wanted to erase them from my mind. The lights in my room bounced off the cd everytime I examined it. It used to be shiny and new, but now, it was covered in dust, fingerprints, and scratches. "I hate you." I mouthed the words carefully while my eyes were steadily fixed on the shiny object. "I-HATE-YOU." I said it again. I said it slowly. I made sure I pronounced each letter, each syllable, each word. Suddenly, an overwhelming feeling of anger burst from my hands and i broke the cd in two. I dropped the pieces on the floor and stepped on them. Everytime it shattered under the sole of my shoe, I could feel a shiny splinter unhook itself from my heart and it made me feel a whole lot better. Finally. NYC i love you [01 May 2004|02:34am] [ mood | cheerful ] im at my friend ria's apartment right now with gamygamine and diana. it was a great day. went to all the cool shops in the east village. alife, tokion, dave's quality meats, the reed space, stacks, and marc jacobs. bought a couple of magazines and a few stuff from marc jacobs. had a cupcake from magnolia bakery and ate it at some park with hipsters. woohoo! had dinner at korean town with some of ria's friends and it was awesome. ::::edit:::: okay, im going to recall most of the stuff we did today so here goes. ria, jordy, and i arrived in new york just in time for lunch. we head to korea town for lunch and we met up with chris. chris is this really cool korean dude who designs for enyce. after lunch, we took some pictures and we went our separate ways. ria and i took the subway and went downtown. first stop was dave's quality meats and we checked out some cool kicks and tees. we then went to the reed space and it was amazing. they had all these cool magazines and books and amazing kicks and tees as well. i got the newest copy of res magazine there and i talked to the owner about kicks and i told him how cheap dunks are back in manila. after that, we headed to DDC Lab because there was a sample sale. i got a mesh cap which was originally $36 and it was marked down to $5. so that made me really happy. we went to Tokion after and i picked up the newest ish of the mag. it was really hot inside the store for some strange reason. after Tokion, we went to Alife Rivington Club and it was literally a hole in the wall. they had all these limited edition sneakers and you have to be buzzed in to actually get into the store. the store is really easy to miss becuase there is no sign outside. ria and i took a breather at a coffee shop while we waited for gamygamine to arrive. when mia finally arrived, we walked around soho and checked out Kid Robot and A.P.C.. we then went to the west village to get cupcakes at magnolia bakery. went to marc jacobs after because there was a mad sale. we also passed by the famous Cafe Habana at nolita where lenny kravitz shot this one video of his. there were so many cool people standing outside the place, it was crazy. we then went back to korea town to have dinner and this time, we were joined by more people. i'll try to post pictures soon because it was a really fun group. we then went to ria's apartment downtown and just hung out. i really love smoking cigarettes outside the apartment because i see all these cool people walking around and it's such a great new york feeling. i don't know if this recap was good. im sure i missed writing down other places we went to. oh yeah, we also went to Breakbeat Science and Alife and Stackhouse which sold a lot of amazing t-shirts and tote bags and shoes and over-priced 2k tees. they were $37 each! that's just plain crazy. ahh what a great day. 16 comments|post comment
